Get RikPVR Trial

RikPVR 2.0 Released

Australia Day 2008 has been celebated at RikWare by releasing RikPVR 2.0. The big features are multi-channelling and broadcast TV guides, but check out all the details at http://www.rikpvr.com/Versions.aspx.

You can download RikPVR from the normal place (http://www.rikpvr.com/Trial.aspx) or using the "Check for Updates" option from RikPVR's main menu.

How do I upgrade to version 2? The "Check for Updates" option does not seem to work and the http://www.rikpvr.com/Trial.aspx page points to the same RikPVR 1.0.0.259 installer.

Hi Robert,

Thanks for picking this up. There was an error when deploying the new version to the server. It's being fixed up and version 2.0 should be available soon.

The new version has been uploaded and should now be available via the "Check for Updates" or by downloading on the trial page. Be aware that if you download the trial you will need to uninstall the old version first, however your settings will not be lost.

I had many troubles installing the new version using the check for updates feature. They included visual studio debugger to continually pop up with a message asking whether I would like to debug RikPVR which has stopped working, and the program installer just hanging. I ended up downloading the trial version, uninstalling the current version and then reinstalling version 2. This method worked after a little hassle.

Anyway, the hassle of the version 2 installation was worth it, it looks like a great improvement.

PS: My OS is Vista
